Atreya Research Interests: Dr. Atreya specializes in gastrointestinal cancer, particularly colorectal cancer. Her<br />

research focuses on the interplay of tumor genetics and response to therapies for colorectal cancer, with the<br />

goal of improving patient outcomes and quality of life by personalizing treatment. Dr. Atreya is the recipient<br />

of numerous awards, including the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology<br />

Young Investigator Award and Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology Foundation Investigator Award. She<br />

is the recipient of a National Cancer Institute/National Institutes of Health K08 Career Development Award<br />

for Targeting of Aberrant Signaling in Patient-Derived Colorectal Cancer Models. Dr. Atreya is a member of<br />

the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, American Association of Cancer Researchers and Alliance for<br />

Clinical Trials in Oncology, Gastrointestinal Committee.<br />

Fong Research Interests: My lab focuses on how the immune system interacts with cancer as well as exploring<br />

tumor immunotherapies in mouse models and in patients. Our primary focus is in cancer immunotherapy.<br />

We investigate how immunotherapies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors and cancer vaccines can<br />

enhance anti-tumor immunity both systemically and in the tumor microenvironment. Performing neoadjuvant<br />

immunotherapy trials, we determine how specific therapies can recruit immune effectors in cancer patients.<br />

Moreover, we have studied how clinical responders may differ from clinical non-responders. We are applying<br />

unbiased approaches to studying antigen-specific responses that are modulated in these patients and are<br />

currently developing biomarkers that may be redictive of clinical efficacy.<br />
