LOCATION<br />
The building where the dance hall scenes were shot was the most famous Warsaw place of that<br />
kind – Adria restaurant- built in the 20ies and renowned for its modern dance floor among<br />
other things.<br />
During the 2 nd World War the place was taken over by the Germans and after the war never<br />
quite regained its shape however it always had outstanding live acts playing. “We never<br />
dreamed that we would be able to actually shoot there but it turned out the place had been<br />
empty for years and we didn’t even have to pay for the location” says Agnieszka Smoczyńska<br />
“ If that wasn’t enough everything there remained absolutely intact, someone even found a<br />
shoe and a wine glass on the floor”.<br />
Sezam – the shopping mall -where the big group dancing scene was shot, was a symbol of the<br />
80ies era. Built in 1969 and designed as a shopping space also had a cult bar on the 2 nd floor.<br />
Unfortunately the place was torn down shortly after filming.
