Doornekamp <strong>com</strong>es into the team after a promising rookie pro-season in Italy with Pepsi<br />
Caserta, one of the top teams in the country’s domestic top flight. While he only averaged just<br />
over 4 points and 2 rebounds per game in 15 minutes of action, the club will retain his services<br />
for another season having seen enough to think he can be<strong>com</strong>e more influential. Still evolving as<br />
a player, it seems such a long time since he was Canadian University player of the year (in 2007-<br />
08) and since then his skills have definitely developed. Doornekamp has plenty of smarts to call<br />
on, including a high basketball IQ although since he is not exactly the biggest in terms of physical<br />
stature, he can struggle defending certain opponents at this level. However the forward showed<br />
in last year’s <strong>FIBA</strong> Americas Championship that he can be an effective player on this team and<br />
Coach Rautins will be hoping he delivers something similar this summer.<br />

Mike Fraser has impressed head coach Leo Rautins with his hard work in the paint and<br />
tremendously exciting athletic ability which certainly offers something different in an otherwise<br />
functional team. Fraser is an energetic forward who can do it all around the basket. He is a<br />
proficient rebounder, a good finisher and he loves to throw down dunks. He <strong>com</strong>es into the<br />
mix off the back of an impressive season in the Ukrainian Superleague where he averaged a<br />
season double-double. He led the league in rebounding and played in the All Star game. He<br />
will be full of confidence heading to Turkey and if he gets given a spot, he could bring the kind<br />
of explosive energy in the paint to really get the team going. Not a finesse player but it will be<br />
intriguing to see how effective his leaping ability and athletic approach is at this level. He can<br />
definitely make an impact.<br />

sezonun sonunda milli takıma katılan Dornekamp, sezonu maç başına 15 dakika süre alarak 4<br />
sayı ve 2 ribaund ortalamaları ile tamamladı. Geçtiğimiz sezon gösterdiği performans ile takımı<br />
ile yeni bir sözleşme imzalayan Doornekamp, 2007-08 sezonunda Kanada Üniversitesi’nde<br />

Boyalı alandaki sıkı çalışması ve atletik yetenekleri antrenör Leo Rautins’i etkileyen FRaser,<br />
enerjik bir forvet olarak özellikle pota çevresinde çok etki bir oyuncu. Pota altında etkili<br />
ribaundlar alabilen ve bitirici özellikleri ile ön plana çıkan Fraser, smaç yapmayı da seven bir<br />
oyuncu. Ukrayna Superleague’de başarılı bir sezonu geride bırakan Fraser, sezonu double<br />
double ile noktaladı. Ligin en çok ribaund alan oyuncusu olmasının yanı sıra All Star maçında<br />
da forma giydi. Eğer Türkiye’de forma giyme şansı elde edebilirse, kendine güveninin tam<br />
olacağından kimsenin kuşkusu yok. Takıma ihtiyacı olduğunda boyalı alanda gerekli enerjiyi<br />
verebilecek bir oyuncu. Çok usta bir oyuncu olarak nitelendirilmese de yeteneklerini çok iyi<br />

Shepherd is just the kind of young player with the right attitude that Coach Rautins could<br />
love for years to <strong>com</strong>e as he fits perfectly into the team ethos of a hard working side. He<br />
is a natural leader and was captain at Michigan even if he wasn’t the biggest producer<br />
stastistically speaking. At National Team level he still has plenty to prove in terms of his<br />
talent levels and ability to produce although other players such as Ryan Bell have shown<br />
that having limited productivity is not a barrier to getting international experience and a role<br />
on the team. Shepherd has just finished his rookie pro-season and will remain in Europe to<br />
play in the second tier of German club basketball next season with Osnabrueck. He might not<br />
have enough to make much of an impact this time and if he does make the cut then expect a<br />
handful of minutes off the bench.<br />

Milli takımda ise hala kanıtlaycak birçok şeyi var. Yeteneğini ve yapabileceklerini kanıtlaması<br />
