It has been quite a year for Matthew Dellavedova, captaining Australia at the <strong>FIBA</strong> U19 World<br />
Championship in New Zealand, making his senior international debut in the <strong>FIBA</strong> U19 World<br />
Championship, and helping lead St Mary’s University to the NCAA Tournament where they<br />
advanced to the Sweet Sixteen. Dellavedova averaged 12ppg and 5apg in a promising debut<br />
year, being named West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team for his efforts. At the 2009<br />
<strong>FIBA</strong> U19 World Championship in Auckland, Dellavedova was his country’s best player,<br />
averaging 10ppg, 3rpg and 2apg, including 18 points against France in the quarter-final and<br />
14 points and 4 assists against Croatia in the bronze medal game. While he is an outside<br />
chance to play in Turkey, the injury to CJ Bruton has left the door slightly ajar for a young man<br />
who seems set to represent Australia for many years to <strong>com</strong>e.<br />

noktaladı. Bu performansı ile Batı Konferansı’nda All Freshman Takımı’na seçildi. Auckland’da<br />
gerçekleştirilen 2009 <strong>FIBA</strong> U19 Şampiyonası’nda da ülkesinin en iyi oyuncusu olarak göze<br />
çarparken, 10 sayı, 3 ribaund ve 2 asist ortalamalarına ulaştı. Fransa karşısında 18 sayı ile<br />
oynayan Matthew, çeyrek final mücadelesinde ise Hırvatistan’a karşı 14 sayı ve 4 asist ile<br />
mücadele etti. CJ Bruton’un sakatlığında Türkiye’de oynama şansını elde eden Matthew’den<br />
Avustralya’yı uzun yıllar temsil etmesi bekleniyor.<br />
