Ricky Sanchez is still a work in progress, showing great three-point shooting ability and being
pushed to the power forward position. He has shown some signs of greatness, especially
during the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship where he was key defensively. Sanchez needs
more consistency at both ends of the court in order to be a factor in this tournament. He has
played since he was 16 years of age in Guayama but developed in Caguas and then the IMG
Academy. He has played in the NBDL and Spain. In Puerto Rico he was the starting forward
for Cangrejeros de Santurce.

Knicks after a great collegiate career at South Carolina. Born on Staten Island, New York,
Balkman has been a defensive specialist in the NBA and can play both forward positions. He
has Puerto Rican grandparents and committed to play for the Puerto Rican National Team,
making his debut at the 2010 Centrobasket Championship.

Nathan Peavye is one of the best forwards in Puerto Rico and has seen limited action on his
island due to his contracts in Germany where he is reGuarded as one of the top imports in the
Bundesliga. Peavy won a BSN title with Bayamon in 2009 and can play both forward positions
with ease. The Puerto Rican coaching staff expects a lot from Peavy at the 2010 FIBA World
Championship and in future international competitions.
