Recipes<br />
Tasty Floppy treats<br />

Ingredients<br />
100g/3½oz unsalted butter, softened<br />
100g/3½oz caster sugar<br />
1 free-range egg, lightly beaten<br />
275g/10oz plain flour<br />
1 tsp vanilla extract<br />
To decorate<br />
400g/14oz icing sugar<br />
3-4 tbsp water<br />
2-3 drops food colouring<br />
Method<br />
Preheat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5. Line a baking<br />
tray with greaseproof paper.<br />
Beat the butter and sugar together in a bowl until<br />
combined.<br />
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, a little at a time,<br />
until well combined.<br />
Stir in the flour until the mixture comes together as a<br />
dough.<br />
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured work surface to<br />
a thickness of 1cm/½in.<br />
Using your bone template or biscuit cutter, cut<br />
biscuits out of the dough and carefully place onto the<br />
baking tray.<br />
Bake the biscuits for 8-10 minutes, or until pale<br />
golden-brown. Set aside to harden for 5 minutes, then<br />
cool on a wire rack.<br />
For the icing, sift the icing sugar into a large mixing<br />
bowl and stir in enough water to create a smooth<br />
mixture. Stir in the food colouring.<br />
Carefully spread the icing onto the biscuits using a<br />
knife or a piping bag and set aside until the icing<br />
hardens.<br />

Ingredients<br />
250g/9oz butter, softened<br />
250g/9oz caster sugar<br />
250g/9oz gluten-free self-raising flour<br />
4 eggs<br />
1 tbsp vanilla extract<br />
3 tbsp cocoa powder<br />
For the icing<br />
200g/7oz icing sugar<br />
200g/7oz butter,<br />
softened<br />

Method<br />
Preheat the oven to 190C(Gas 5/375F). Line<br />
the cupcake tin with cupcake cases.<br />
Place the butter and sugar into a bowl,<br />
Whisk until pale and fluffy.<br />
Add the eggs one at a time, Add a little<br />
flour after each one. When combined add<br />
the vanilla extract and the cocoa powder,<br />
stir until combined.<br />
Divide up into the cupcake cases. Bake for<br />
20 minutes until golden and risen.<br />
When cool make the icing - place the<br />
butter and the icing sugar into a bowl,<br />
beat together until soft and light.<br />
Place the icing into a piping bag and<br />
decorate the cupcakes.

To make Gran’s glasses you need:<br />

Craft cellophane (different colours if you like)<br />
l Stiff paper or cardboard<br />
l Markers or crayons<br />
l Scissors<br />
l Sticky tape or glue<br />
l Glitter, stickers, pom-poms…<br />

Cut out the glasses template and then cut<br />
cellophane to fit the eyes and glue to the back<br />
of the glasses.<br />
Attach the ‘arms’ to the lenses and bend them to<br />
fit the face of the child.<br />
