HAZEM BATA, ESQ., LL.M.<br />
Hazem Bata is the secretary general of Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Bata is a lawyer<br />
and activist making outstanding contributions to the American Muslim community. He holds a<br />
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from West Virginia University School of Law and a Master of Laws<br />
(LL.M) from Washington University in Saint Louis.<br />
He practiced law in Florida and was a partner in Bata & Associates, P.A. working in real estate<br />
development and business law. Prior to joining ISNA, he served as Operations Manager for<br />
Bank of America where he managed the Mortgage Resolution Team (MRT).<br />
Bata previously served as an executive council member of the Islamic Center of Morgantown<br />
for several years while in West Virginia. He was a legal intern with the Arab-American Anti-<br />
Discrimination Committee (ADC) and was active with various other American Muslim organizations<br />
in Florida. He also served as executive director of the Orlando chapter of the Council on<br />
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Orlando) from 2008-2009.<br />
