explains how small
changes can make a big
difference in the world.
WE all want a better world yet
most people are
overwhelmed when it comes
to planning and following
through with their plans.
Ward 37 which comprises
KWT and the surrounding
areas is a big challenge for
me. It covers many different
areas and types of
communities. As your DA
candidate it is my duty and
indeed my responsibility to
visit and talk to as many of my
supporters as possible. Even
more important is for me to
talk to those that oppose me.
Politics is about give and take.
One day I can be talking to a
business owner right here in
King discussing politics and
looking for solutions to help
them grow their business and
how I can help achieve that
once in office. That same
afternoon I could be deep in
a rural area outside town
meeting a group of village
elders looking at basic
service delivery issues. My
mandate of giving people
freedom, fairness and
opportunity takes me far and
wide.
There are times when I am
completely overwhelm and
indeed don’t know where to
start my day or even how to
tackle a problem be it large or
small, simple or complicated.
I work on the premise that
small changes can
collectively lead to big
change globally.
If I can help at least 1 person
a day as your candidate and
in turn that person can help
another, then within a month
I would have made a
tangible positive difference
to my community.
Helping to clean up a street,
doing door to door in
Tolofenyi or even sitting in a
community meeting right
here in King can at times be
overwhelming. Proper
planning and working in
small manageable junks is
how things get done. A diary
in my life has become a
priority.
Politics is a brutal game and
it will get even tougher come
the 3rd of August elections.
Politicians will offer you the
world in order to secure your
vote but I urge you to
question them and indeed
question me. Ask me what is
my plan to deliver on my
promises. Get a detailed
breakdown and see how my
small changes will lead to
bigger and better things in
our ward.
Hold me accountable and
indeed all politicians. If in the
past they have not delivered
or made promises just to get
your vote and then forget
about you, then perhaps it is
time for change.
After all, spring cleaning your
house is a good way to get
rid of all the junk. Who says
you can’t do that with our
political system?
