'With that said, I firstly want to
thank the King of Kings and
Lord of Lords, my personal
friend, Jesus Christ.
'Today we are here to
celebrate 155 years of Dale
College and on 24 July 2016
we will celebrate the 123 rd
anniversary of the Old Dalian
Union.
'All of this is because God
has allowed, has favoured us
and has enabled us to reach
this milestone.
'155 years does not just
happen by hook or crook,”
said Anele.
He said it is a known fact that
children go to school and
within no time, they look
forward to the day they leave
school, to never look back
and to have absolutely no
desire to associate
themselves with their school.
'The same is not true about
most Dalians. For most us
this Dale College shall
forever be a part of our lives.
'With that I wish to thank my
fellow Old Dalians for loving
our school. Thank you
gentlemen for the support
you have given to the Old
Dalian Union.
'Some of you have donated
large sums of money to the
ODU in support of our vision,
which is to uphold, nurture
and preserve the legacy of
Dale College. 'Some of you
have invested your
resources, your time, skills
and wisdom to the advance
the cause of the ODU.
'Your service has not gone
unnoticed. I want you to know
that without your valuable
contribution – we would not
have any of this,' he said.
As Old Dalians we have a
natural progression – where
every single year our
organisation grows, as we
welcome into the ODU new
members from each grade
12 year group.
'With this I mean, the Old
Dalian Union does not and
cannot exist independently
from Dale Junior and from
Dale College.
“I wish to thank Mike Eddy
for his commitment to Dale
College. '
Mr Eddy has been at the
school since 1991 and has
been Headmaster for the
past13 years.
'Many people only have bad
things to say about our Dale
College, many of whom have
never even set foot on these
premises.
'Most people do not know
what it takes to run a school
like Dale College. To you Mr
Eddy and your staff, thank
you for being such great
stewards.
'By looking after this school
and empowering our young
Dalians, you are making a
direct contribution to the
ODU. The future of the Old
Dalian Union is secured,'
said Anele.
“Thank you to the many
people, Old Dalians and their
family members who have
come from all over the
country, some of whom have
come from overseas to be
here.
'Our friends and our families
who have come from near
and from far to be part this
celebration. Thank you for
giving up your busy
schedules and setting aside
time to be with us. Enjoy the
festivities.
'Let us together make
Reunion 2016 an event to
remember forever,'
