Opaque pigments and ink on paper laid down on cloth, the nimbate Maharao Ram Singh II (r.1828-66),<br />

riding on an elephant returning to a fort with a large retinue, monkeys and peacocks clustered around<br />

the walls with a cityscape in the background, within wide red margins with black rules and a devanagri<br />

inscription in the upper margin, mounted, framed and glazed<br />
