Calling
Jonathan is married to Myrna. They have two boys, Peniel and Jonatán.
He became a follower of Christ when he was 16 years old. Since then
he began to serve, working on different church ministries, with a
special passion for evangelism.
They planted a church in the South side of Puerto Rico in 2008. After 4
years the Lord transitioned them to a ministry dedicated to
strengthening the leadership of the church in the island. After working
with this ministry for around 3
y e a r s t h e y f e l t t h e
Lord stirring their hearts
a g a i n t o w a r d s c h u r c h
planting, and so they began
to pray for God’s will.
The Lord connected them
with Red 1:8, a Hispanic
church planting ministry
based in Oklahoma City.
They learned about the
growing Hispanic population
and the lack of gospel
centered churches for this
group in the city of Colorado
Springs. After doing a trip to the city, they felt the Lord calling them to
partner with Garden Ranch Baptist Church, which had been praying for
a Hispanic ministry in their area for 5 year because of the growing
Hispanic population.
Jonathan and his family moved from Puerto Rico to Colorado Springs
in June of 2015. Since then they have begun to engage the Hispanic
community. Every day the Lord has confirmed their calling and passion
for these beautiful and diverse people groups.
