The AONB’s farmed landscape makes
it the perfect place for delicious, fresh
local produce. Local shops, pubs,
restaurants and accommodation take
great pride in the high quality produce
that can be found locally. Nidderdale
Lamb, grouse from the moors, locally
brewed beer and delicious ice cream
are just a few of the specialities on
offer so why not try them for yourself.

manage our landscape and protects

traditional farming practices, helping
to maintain the diverse farmed
landscape that characterises the area.

Meat, Fish & Cheese:
There are a number of butchers
and farm shops around the
AONB which sell a wonderful
range of meat products, sourced
from local farms. They also
sell delicious award-winning pork pies and local
delicacies, such as grouse and pheasant, providing
the perfect opportunity to try something a little bit
different.

Flour: ‘Sunflours’ flour is
made in the north of the AONB,
near Masham. Traditional
methods of slow milling between
two mill stones are used to
produce high quality products
including organic and gluten free flours. Available
from local retailers.
Beer: If you are partial to a
good pint then Masham is the
place to go as it is home to two
breweries, Black Sheep and
Theakstons (see p23).
