A taste of
Nidderdale
The AONB’s farmed landscape makes
it the perfect place for delicious, fresh
local produce. Local shops, pubs,
restaurants and accommodation take
great pride in the high quality produce
that can be found locally. Nidderdale
Lamb, grouse from the moors, locally
brewed beer and delicious ice cream
are just a few of the specialities on
offer so why not try them for yourself.
Why buy local?
• It supports the farmers who
manage our landscape and protects
the environment by encouraging
traditional farming practices, helping
to maintain the diverse farmed
landscape that characterises the area.
• Products travel a shorter distance
reducing congestion and pollution on
our roads.
• Local food is fresher and healthier
as it is less likely to need processing
and use preservatives.
• It reduces stress for livestock
(caused by transportation) and food is
Meat, Fish & Cheese:
There are a number of butchers
and farm shops around the
AONB which sell a wonderful
range of meat products, sourced
from local farms. They also
sell delicious award-winning pork pies and local
delicacies, such as grouse and pheasant, providing
the perfect opportunity to try something a little bit
different.
Ice Cream: If you like ice
cream you’ll be spoilt for choice.
produce high quality products
including organic and gluten free flours. Available
Beer: If you are partial to a
good pint then Masham is the
