ABOUT US
Managing Director, Oliver Pitman, set up Pitman’s
People in 2001 after spotting a gap in the market
for professional, skilled and personable marquee
and event structure labour in the UK. Having
made their name building temporary structures
throughout the UK and Europe, Pitman’s then grew
and expanded with the creation of the Event Staff
division in 2009. This then meant that they could
provide a 360 degree staffing solution with both
front and back of house staff.
Pitman’s People have been successful providing
staffing solutions within the events industry for
over a decade. Working with well-known brands,
event organisers, venues and event management
companies, Pitman's established themselves as
reliable and reputable, building strong relationships
with clients by understanding their exact needs and
expectations.
Pitman’s People take care of employment
responsibilities and commitments for their
clients including holiday, sick leave, PAYE and
NI administration. They also take of all legal
requirements during the strict interview and vetting
process such as passports, visas and working
histories, which are all kept in-house. Regular inhouse
training sessions ensure every crew member
has the correct licence for the site specific work
they are responsible for carrying out, for example
operating plant machinery, scissor lifting and
telescopic telehandling.
Pitman’s People also provide emergency staffing
solutions (available within two hours of order) as
well as long-term contracts. Whether you require
an individual or a fully equipped and managed
event team who require no support or supervision
from you, Pitman’s have the right people.

MARQUEE AND EVENT
STRUCTURE CREWS
AND RIGGERS
Pitman’s People have successfully supported
the temporary event structure industry for
over a decade. Pitman’s have assembled
a huge variety of structures including
marquees, domes and exhibition stands
at some of the most prestigious events
throughout the UK and Europe such as The
Olympics 2012, Chelsea Flower Show, London
Fashion Week and Henley Regatta. Pitman’s
assisted with the build of over 1 million
square metres of structure in 2012 alone.
Pitman’s People provide their crew with
uniforms ensuring that they uphold
the company’s professional image
through conduct and appearance. This
also creates staff identity, increases
approachability and recognition.
Pitman’s People is renowned as an
event crewing company and they have
a growing base of full time experienced
workers including: 40 regular contractors,
20 foremen, crew chiefs and change
hands and 150+ part time marquee and
event structure riggers.

The Complete Pro
Crew Package
This fully equipped and managed
event team includes a crew chief at
a foreman level, a charge hand and
a team of four to six experienced
marquee builders and riggers with
appropriate tools/plant machinery
licenses. A complete pro crew
needs no support or supervision.

The Pitman’s People Event
Staffing Division specialises in
supplying the highest calibre
of event staff at conferences,
exhibitions, private functions,
pop-up shops, festivals and more.
They have worked on events
with up to 500,000 attendees
and obtain extensive experience
in finding the right staff for your
event, providing a safe and
enjoyable environment. Pitman’s
Event Staffing teams have worked
on major public events including
Oktoberfest, Car Fest and London
Fashion Week and for brands such as
American Apparel and HSBC.

People pride themselves upon their
‘passion for perfection’ and have learnt to
expect and thrive upon the unexpected in
order to withstand this. Pitman’s are well
prepared and have a stand-by system in
place in order to provide a two-hour turn
around.

this interior for his office space in order to create an
inspirational environment for all of his employees.

Sustainability
Pitman’s People are taking action in the interest of
protecting the natural world in order to preserve
the capability of the environment to support human
life. Pitman’s understand that they are accountable
for making responsible decisions that will reduce
any negative impact their business may have on the
environment.
In order to achieve environmental sustainability
Pitman’s People have been reducing, reusing and
recycling wherever possible. A few examples include
becoming a paper-free office, continuing to recycle
waste, ensuring that all of their site-staff share car
transport and making sure all power supplies and
electrical equipment are off when not in use.
