ABOUT US<br />

Managing Director, Oliver Pitman, set up Pitman’s<br />

<strong>People</strong> in 2001 after spotting a gap in the market<br />

for professional, skilled and personable marquee<br />

and event structure labour in the UK. Having<br />

made their name building temporary structures<br />

throughout the UK and Europe, Pitman’s then grew<br />

and expanded with the creation of the Event Staff<br />

division in 2009. This then meant that they could<br />

provide a 360 degree staffing solution with both<br />

front and back of house staff.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> have been successful providing<br />

staffing solutions within the events industry for<br />

over a decade. Working with well-known brands,<br />

event organisers, venues and event management<br />

companies, Pitman's established themselves as<br />

reliable and reputable, building strong relationships<br />

with clients by understanding their exact needs and<br />

expectations.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> take care of employment<br />

responsibilities and commitments for their<br />

clients including holiday, sick leave, PAYE and<br />

NI administration. They also take of all legal<br />

requirements during the strict interview and vetting<br />

process such as passports, visas and working<br />

histories, which are all kept in-house. Regular inhouse<br />

training sessions ensure every crew member<br />

has the correct licence for the site specific work<br />

they are responsible for carrying out, for example<br />

operating plant machinery, scissor lifting and<br />

telescopic telehandling.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> also provide emergency staffing<br />

solutions (available within two hours of order) as<br />

well as long-term contracts. Whether you require<br />

an individual or a fully equipped and managed<br />

event team who require no support or supervision<br />

from you, Pitman’s have the right people.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> have successfully supported<br />

the temporary event structure industry for<br />

over a decade. Pitman’s have assembled<br />

a huge variety of structures including<br />

marquees, domes and exhibition stands<br />

at some of the most prestigious events<br />

throughout the UK and Europe such as The<br />

Olympics 2012, Chelsea Flower Show, London<br />

Fashion Week and Henley Regatta. Pitman’s<br />

assisted with the build of over 1 million<br />

square metres of structure in 2012 alone.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> provide their crew with<br />

uniforms ensuring that they uphold<br />

the company’s professional image<br />

through conduct and appearance. This<br />

also creates staff identity, increases<br />

approachability and recognition.<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> is renowned as an<br />

event crewing company and they have<br />

a growing base of full time experienced<br />

workers including: 40 regular contractors,<br />

20 foremen, crew chiefs and change<br />

hands and 150+ part time marquee and<br />

event structure riggers.<br />

a team of four to six experienced<br />

marquee builders and riggers with<br />

appropriate tools/plant machinery<br />

life. Pitman’s understand that they are accountable<br />

In order to achieve environmental sustainability<br />

Pitman’s <strong>People</strong> have been reducing, reusing and<br />

recycling wherever possible. A few examples include<br />

becoming a paper-free office, continuing to recycle<br />

waste, ensuring that all of their site-staff share car<br />

transport and making sure all power supplies and<br />

electrical equipment are off when not in use.<br />
