Rooted in the history of Chile are the indigenous Mapuche people. The accounts from that era remember that the ancient people<br />
had a deep connection to nature in their culture and named the stars, birds, animals, insects… This profound and ancient<br />
relationship with the earth can be understood as the Mapuche people believed they were children of the earth. Terrapura is the<br />
recognition of this rich history, the origins of the Mapuche and the care and reverence of their land. Terrapura was formed in 2005<br />
by two Chilean entrepreneurs, Alfonso Undurraga and Jose Miguel Ovalle, whom after years of friendship joined their viticulture<br />
dreams in creating this winery. They both carry the love for wine production and passion for the land in their souls.<br />
