local workshops.<br />
With 100,000km on the<br />
clock, two Colombian<br />
mechanics - Carlos and<br />
Victor - helped to open<br />
my engine. Surprised at<br />
what good shape it was<br />
in, we only changed the<br />
intake valves and - preventatively<br />
- the timing<br />
chain. The engine would<br />
last until the end of my<br />
journey. It came 6 years<br />
and 38 countries later<br />
when I bumped into my<br />
soul mate. Long story<br />
short - here was the end<br />
of my RTW trip and the<br />
beginning of something<br />
new. For the time being,<br />
my beloved KTM is<br />
‘parked’ at Touratech<br />
USA. The journey waiting<br />
