38757 (384th BG, 547th BS) crashed in England
38760 (95th BG, 335th BS, "Lucky Lady") hit
by flak over target during mission to
Biblis Dec 24, 1944 and crashlanded in
field near Sarrable, just behind
Allied front line. No injuries to
crew.
38764 (303rd BG, 359th BS) damaged by AAA
during mission to Lutzkendorf,
Germany Feb 9, 1945. Aircraf could not
maintain formation,
lost altitude and on route back
encountered 14 enemy aircraft.
Believing the aircraft to be
defenseless, the pilot ordered his
crew to bail out. 7 crewmen did, and
became POW. However,
a group of Mustangs showed up and drove
off the enemyh fighters and
the remaining 2 crewmen attempted to
bring the damaged plane
back to friendly territory. They
bailed out near St. Trond, Belgium
and returned to Molesworth. The
pilotless Fortress made a
wheels-up belly landing near Bockholt,
Belgium.
38768 (447th BG, 708th BS, *Beelzebub*)
returned to USA Jul 5, 1945, arrived
Kingman, AZ Dec 13, 1945. Sold for
scrap Jul 1, 1946
38771 (381st BG) retired to Kingman, AZ Dec
3, 1945. I also have this plane as being
lost with the 56th BG at Texel,
Netherlands Feb 3, 1945, with 7 KIA.
38774 (95th BG, 412th BS, "Der Fuehrer's

38776 (95th BG, 334th BS, "Victory
