one day I woke up <strong>in</strong> a sandwich box on a desk
It was strange that everyth<strong>in</strong>g<br />
surrounded me was so unfamiliar<br />
<strong>the</strong> desks were everywhere<br />
it was so much different from home
Then I saw someth<strong>in</strong>g flew by it was a fly<br />
She might know where I was!<br />
I waved hard and ran towards her<br />
wish<strong>in</strong>g she would see me
Then<br />
suddenly<br />
I<br />
fell<br />
deeply<br />
<strong>in</strong>to
a b<strong>in</strong><br />
With lots and lots and lots of<br />
paper
Hey kid what are you do<strong>in</strong>g down here <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong>?<br />
Ms Fly said<br />
Where am I? Why are <strong>the</strong>re so much paper here? I said<br />
This is <strong>the</strong> office where <strong>the</strong> adults work<br />
Waste would be dumbed <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong> of course<br />
Ms Fly said
Waste? They are not waste<br />
imag<strong>in</strong>e <strong>the</strong>y could have a second life<br />
RECYCLE &<br />
REUSE
I th<strong>in</strong>k I could help you out my darl<strong>in</strong>g!<br />
Ms Fly said<br />
Ms Fly helped me to take <strong>the</strong> papers<br />
out from <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong> bit by bit
We <strong>the</strong>n headed to<br />
this green big bag several times<br />
f<strong>in</strong>ally <strong>the</strong> mission was completed
What is this smell? Oh food!<br />
Ms Fly said excitedly<br />
A smell that she could not resist
So I was landed on<br />
a conta<strong>in</strong>er unwill<strong>in</strong>gly<br />
What are <strong>the</strong>se? Food <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong>?<br />
I whispered
What if I<br />
少 飯 唔 該 !<br />
share my meal with o<strong>the</strong>rs ask to have smaller portion keep food for next meal
Put <strong>the</strong> disposable conta<strong>in</strong>ers <strong>in</strong>to <strong>the</strong> recycle b<strong>in</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong>y would be glad to have a new life<br />
But<br />
RINSE<br />
everyth<strong>in</strong>g beforehand
Then I recognised a black l<strong>in</strong>e was mov<strong>in</strong>g up to <strong>the</strong> top<br />
of <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong><br />
Every small dot was carry<strong>in</strong>g someth<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> back<br />
that were <strong>the</strong> march<strong>in</strong>g ants!
I bumped <strong>in</strong>to one of <strong>the</strong>m<br />
Hello Mr Ant What are you do<strong>in</strong>g here? I asked<br />
We are collect<strong>in</strong>g food for <strong>the</strong> cold w<strong>in</strong>ter Mr Ant said<br />
It is Summer now isn t it? I wondered I am f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
way home can you help me to get out of <strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong> please?
My pleasure little girl come climb on my back!<br />
Mr Ant said enthusiastically<br />
Then I was like rid<strong>in</strong>g on a tank Mr Ant steadily<br />
moved towards <strong>the</strong> top<br />
Some of my bro<strong>the</strong>rs are work<strong>in</strong>g on <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r side<br />
let me show you <strong>the</strong>ir workplace Mr Ant said
Why are <strong>the</strong>y tak<strong>in</strong>g all <strong>the</strong> packag<strong>in</strong>gs out from<br />
<strong>the</strong> b<strong>in</strong>? I asked Mvr Ant<br />
There are still food <strong>in</strong>side <strong>the</strong> pocket we won t waste<br />
any bit Mr Ant said
There were candy wraps crisp packs chocolate warps<br />
and biscuits packag<strong>in</strong>gs
What if I<br />
唔 使 袋 唔 該 !<br />
choose snack with<br />
recyclable packag<strong>in</strong>g<br />
<strong>the</strong>re would be a recycl<strong>in</strong>g aymbol at<br />
<strong>the</strong> back of <strong>the</strong> packag<strong>in</strong>g<br />
choose snack with<br />
lesser packag<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
or even have snack<br />
without packag<strong>in</strong>g
Beh<strong>in</strong>d you! Mr Ant shouted suddenly<br />
I saw a huge monster was approach<strong>in</strong>g me it scared<br />
me to flee right away
When I ran to a black striped ground a strange<br />
w<strong>in</strong>d blew me up <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> air It was like <strong>the</strong> monsoon<br />
blow<strong>in</strong>g from <strong>the</strong> nor<strong>the</strong>ast<br />
That was why Mr Ant and his bro<strong>the</strong>r thought <strong>the</strong><br />
w<strong>in</strong>ter was com<strong>in</strong>g?
So I was blown to a deck<br />
How come it could be that cold here? I whispered<br />
The air conitioner makes here cold like w<strong>in</strong>ter<br />
Come kid dr<strong>in</strong>k some warm water <strong>the</strong>n you would<br />
feel better I heard a voice said<br />
Who said that? Is it necessary to be that cold?<br />
I wondered
That was Ms Fly over <strong>the</strong>re!<br />
Pick a cup I will help to press some water out<br />
Ms Fly said warmly<br />
Why are <strong>the</strong>re so many cups here? I asked
They are for dr<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g water of course my dear Ms Fly answered<br />
So people here like br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir own cup like I do? I asked<br />
Yes <strong>the</strong>y all do! Ms Fly said firmly
It def<strong>in</strong>itely is a good act! Mom said br<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong>g my own water<br />
bottle would help sav<strong>in</strong>g lots of plastic bottle that take over<br />
a hundred year of degradation <strong>the</strong>y would probably harm <strong>the</strong><br />
o<strong>the</strong>r liv<strong>in</strong>g creatures who mistakenly eat <strong>the</strong>m<br />
What if I<br />
dr<strong>in</strong>k bottled water<br />
daily for<br />
a week<br />
a month<br />
half a year
Home I miss home<br />
Ms Fly can you show me <strong>the</strong> way home?<br />
Let me help you out my darl<strong>in</strong>g Ms Fly said gently<br />
Then I heard a strange sound at my back<br />
KNOCK<br />
KNOCK<br />
KNOCK
Ms Chan I said<br />
No home yet Have you done all your deliverables?<br />
Ms Chan asked
