Butanediol Production Cost Reports
Butanediol (BDO) refers to all butylene glycol isomers. The 1,4 Butanediol, the most common of them, is a versatile intermediate for the
chemical industry mainly used in the production of polyurethanes and polybutylene terephthalate.
BDO can be produced from different raw materials. The conventional method starts from acetylene. Other processes use propylene oxide,
maleic anhydride or 1,3-butadiene. The newest technologies being developed are bio-based pathways, which rely on bio-based succinic
acid derived from biomass or a sugar substrate.
Intratec portfolio includes reports examining Butanediol production cost, with in-depth analysis of specific production processes and highlevel
comparisons of different production routes.
