Nature of Business Operations
SCI Public Co., Ltd., (“the Company”) carries out the business in manufacturing and distributing switch boards, cable trays
and support systems (under “SCI” Trademark), manufacturing and distributing transmission towers, telecommunication towers
and hot-dip galvanized steel structures (under “AG&SCIMT” Trademark which is the Company’s affiliate), providing services on
the procurements and contracting works on installing high voltage transmission system and electric distribution system including
investments in the business of renewal energy power plant (currently having business on small sized hydro-power plant) (under
the Company’s affiliate) by making the incorporation registration as a limited company in 1987. The Company’s present status
is a public limited company following its conversion on 13 October 2015 having all registered paid-up capital of 750,000,000
million Baht.
Nature of Business:
The Company’s business can be divided into 3 natures as follows:
1. Sales Business
1.1 Consisting of works on manufacturing and distributing switch boards, cable trays and support systems:
• Switch Board; or it may be called MDB (Main Distribution Board) and other Control Boards by accepting the
work in designing the switch boards in accordance with the electrical circuit pattern. The characteristic of the
switch board is a sizable electric distribution panel which is generally-used in medium sized buildings to the
large sized ones and industrial factories using large amount of the power.
The switch boards designed and manufactured by the Company can be divided into 4 main categories as
follows: 1) Electrical gear switch boards of low-medium voltage, 2) Electrical gear switch boards specifically of
Type Tested, 3) Power for controlling and preventing electrical high voltage and 4) Cabinets or metal works for
various utilizations.
The Company accepts manufacturing and assembling works in complete set of switch boards and accessories
according to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standard under the customers’ requirements
by taking into account the designs and manufactures with high safety to operational workers, electrical
appliances and by compellingly required to comply with other related standards such as National Electrical
Code (NEC) of the United States of America IEC. In addition, practical executions shall be performed under the
standard of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and Metro
politan Electricity Authority (MEA).
• Cable Trays and Support Systems; The Company manufactures cable trays all along with the manufactures of
switch boards. The cable trays are used both in the buildings and factories as well as electric train projects, large
sized industrial projects such as petrochemical, constructions, real estate projects that all need to use
electricity and that it is necessary to have cable trays as a part in installing electrical systems.
The Company’s customer groups using the Company’s switch board and cable tray products are in the business
groups of petrochemical, high buildings and towers, industries, infrastructures and mass transit systems and exports
for distributions, etc. In addition, the government agencies requiring electrical layout systems, electrical
distributions by having the switch boards and cable trays of the whole systems newly installed including the
organizations requiring electrical systems to be rehabilitated for more safety are all the Company’s customers’
groups;
.Presently, the Company has a capacity of manufacturing 1,500 switch boards and approximately 5,500 tons of
cable trays, respectively, per year
1.2 Transmission Tower, Telecommunication Tower and Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Structure Manufacturing and
Distribution Work:
• Transmission Tower and Substation Steel Structure; The Company can manufacture transmission towers for
electrical voltage of 69 kilovolt to 115 kilovolt, 230 kilovolt and 500 kilovolt with the tower height from 30-100 |
meters. Presently, the Company’s manufacturing capacity is approximately 20,000 tons per year by distributing
