Message from the Chairman of the Board
In 2015, the economic situation in Superpowers such as European Union (EU),
United States of America and China, etc., which was in the state of downturn
eventually affected the world economy including Thailand, thus, causing GDP
in the country to be lower than estimated. This reflects the competitiveness
which the entrepreneurs would have to exert their utmost efforts more in order
to survive their businesses under such situation. However, the investments in
mega projects of the State sector contained in 2016 will help stimulate
domestic economy to be able to better recover in
For SCI Electric Public Co., Ltd., the revenues were generated from both
in country and overseas which, in 2015, the Company’s domestic revenues still
accounted for the increasing growth while the revenues from overseas were still
continuously coming in as planned. The proportion of the revenues from in country
and overseas was 65% and 35%, respectively.
In 2016, the Company has moved forward in accordance with the plan to
expand business in Myanmar by investing in the construction of the plant to
manufacture high voltage towers and telecommunication towers up to hot-dip
galvanized services due to the reason that Myanmar has invested a lot more on
power transmissions in accordance with the country’s energy development plan
including telecommunication media towers which have been continuously
expanded after the licenses were issued to private companies for investments
as the telecommunication entrepreneurs in the country.
Nevertheless, the Company has still placed the importance on the contracted
service work on installing high voltage systems and power distributions systems
in Lao PDR by still having the plan to take the jobs continuously including to increase
proportion of the revenues from the investments in renewable energy power
plants both in country and overseas in order that the revenues can be constantly
generated in the long term.
On the working principle, the Company has still operated business under
corporate governance by taking into account the benefits of shareholders and
stakeholders as the core adherence and still strictly complied with various Rules
and Requirements of the Stock Exchange of Thailand as well as complying with
the principle of good corporate governance and transparency. Moreover, the
Company has deployed the risk management to cope with the risk arisen from
various factors having a trend of substantial increase, with due care.
The growth of our Company to date has well reflected the potentials and
dedications of all levels of our employees. On behalf of the Company Board of
Directors, I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation to all of you who provide supports
to the Company, our shareholders, investors, allies, suppliers as well as financial
institutions who have provided good supports for the operations of the Company.
