Poklon, pass on the road Vranje-Veprinac, through Učka, at 922m<br />
above sea level. Before the construction of the istrian railway in<br />
1876, pilgrims from Istria and Rijeka traveled across Učka on foot.<br />
At the Poklon pass, from which you can see all of the Kvarner bay,<br />
they would bow and take an oath to the church of Our Lady of<br />
Trsat. It is an untranslatable fraze, poklon in Croatian means to<br />
bow.<br />
Strategically important road Pazin-Kastav was built In the 18th<br />
century, popularly called Istrian Josephine. Poklon is an integral<br />
part of the Učka Nature Park. There are hotels, Učka mountain<br />
lodge and a monument in the form of a large stone cross with the<br />
inscription: “In memory of Blessed Stepinac”.<br />
