A history of success 

1970 

Walter Winkler takes over the family 

hotel in Mantana from his parents 

Olivia and Hermann. 

1972 

Walter Winkler marries Maria 

Eisendle; the marriage is blessed 

by 4 children: Kurt, Miriam, Sylvia 

and Sandra. 

1983 

The Winkler family acquires the Pensione 

Messner in S. Stefano. 

1993 

Kurt joins the family business, and 

Miriam follows suit. 

2004 

The Hotel Sonnenhof in Falzes 

is acquired. 

2005 

Miriam Winkler marries Christof 

Schuster and gives birth to twins, 

Laura and Lukas, followed by a third 

son, Marian, in 2010. 

2006 

The Hotel Lanerhof becomes a 

luxury spa hotel. 

1997 

Kurt Winkler marries Monika Oberarzbacher; 

the couple has one son, Julian, and one daughter, 

Anna Lisa. 

1998 

Pensione Messner becomes a 4-star hotel 

belonging to the Winkler group. 

2010 

The Residence Lanerhof is built. 

2015 

The Hotel Sonnenhof in Falzes 

undergoes major refurbishing. 

2000

an alpinist at heart, is a certified mountain guide 

and will be introducing you to “his” mountains 

on three separate occasions, taking place on

tour including an easy via ferrata will give you 

the opportunity to climb the impressive rock 

formations under the guidance of a passionate and 

experienced mountaineer, and to learn more about the

Take the Alta Badia/Corvara exit, cross 

the bridge and turn left into the village 

of S. Lorenzo. After about 150 m you

Arrival by train 

Take the train via Munich-Innsbruck-Fortezza 

from Brennero or from 

Verona via Bolzano-Fortezza. Change 

here towards Val Pusteria till S. Lorenzo 

or Brunico. We are glad to pick you up 

with our shuttle directly at the train station; 

simply let us know your scheduled
