Sā va tesaṁ āyasmantānaṁ upasampadā ahosi.<br />

Addasā kho Gayākassapo jaṭilo kesamissaṁ jaṭāmissaṁ<br />
<strong>The</strong> yogi Gayākassapa saw the hair, locks,<br />
khārikājamissaṁ aggihuttamissaṁ udake vuyhamāne,<br />
pole and basket and sacred fire equipment floating in the water,<br />
disvānassa etad-ahosi:<br />
and after seeing (them), this occurred to him:<br />
“Mā heva me bhātūnaṁ upasaggo ahosī,” ti<br />
“Let there be no danger for my brothers,”<br />
Jaṭile pāhesi: “Gacchatha me bhātaro jānāthā,” ti<br />
and he sent yogis, (saying): “Go and find out about my brothers,”<br />
sāmañ-ca dvīhi jaṭilasatehi saddhiṁ yenāyasmā Uruvelakassapo tenupasaṅkami,<br />
and he together with two hundred yogis approached the venerable Uruvelakassapa,<br />
upasaṅkamitvā āyasmantaṁ Uruvelakassapaṁ etad-avoca:<br />
and after approaching he said this to the venerable Uruvelakassapa:<br />
“Idaṁ nu kho Kassapa seyyan?”-ti<br />
“Is this better, Kassapa?”<br />
“Āmāvuso idaṁ seyyan”-ti<br />
“Yes, friend, this is better. ”<br />
Atha kho te jaṭilā, kesamissaṁ jaṭāmissaṁ,<br />
o <strong>The</strong>n those yogis, after throwing their hair, locks,<br />
khārikājamissaṁ aggihuttamissaṁ udake pavāhetvā,<br />
pole and basket and sacred fire equipment into the water,<br />
yena Bhagavā tenupasaṅkamiṁsu,<br />
approached the Gracious One,
