ktamiti savadhūjanaḥ sadāro npatirapi pracakāra śeṣakāryam || 8.87<br />

87. With a prompt acquiescence at the king’s <strong>or</strong>der the counsell<strong>or</strong> and the family<br />

priest went to that f<strong>or</strong>est; and then with his wives and his queen the king also, saying,<br />

‘It is done,’ perf<strong>or</strong>med the remainder <strong>of</strong> the rites.<br />

iti śrībuddhacarite mahākāvye ’taḥpuravilāpo nāmāṣṭamaḥ sargaḥ || 8 ||<br />
