But this is not all. <strong>The</strong> lengths of reigns of the Neo-Babylonian<br />

kings (as quoted from the contract tablets by Dr. R. Thompson<br />

above) from the first king, Nabopolassar, to the last one,<br />

Nabonidus, may be firmly established in a number of different<br />

ways. In fact, the chronology of this period may be established by<br />

at least seventeen different lines of evidence! This evidence will be<br />

presented in the next two chapters.<br />
