This is anaemia that results from a chr<strong>on</strong>ic disease<br />

such as IBD or other inflammatory processes.<br />

Is a form of arthritis characterized by chr<strong>on</strong>ic<br />

inflammati<strong>on</strong> that primarily affects the spine,<br />

causing pain and stiffness of the back, progressing<br />

to the chest and neck.<br />

Biological (biotechnologically produced) drugs<br />

comm<strong>on</strong>ly used to treat Inflammatory Bowel<br />

<strong>Disease</strong>. The most comm<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong>es are infliximab,<br />

adalimumab, certolizumab and golimumab.<br />

Antibiotics Medicati<strong>on</strong> Medicati<strong>on</strong>s used to treat infecti<strong>on</strong>s caused by<br />

bacteria. They are ineffective against viruses.<br />

Antidiarrheal Medicati<strong>on</strong> A medicati<strong>on</strong> that provides relief from the<br />

symptoms of diarrhoea. The most comm<strong>on</strong> <strong>on</strong>e is<br />

loperamide.<br />

Appendectomy Surgery The removal of the appendix by a surge<strong>on</strong>. Usually<br />

d<strong>on</strong>e for appendicitis.<br />

Appendicitis <strong>Disease</strong> The inflammati<strong>on</strong> of the appendix which is an<br />

extensi<strong>on</strong> of the col<strong>on</strong>. Am<strong>on</strong>g other things,<br />

appendicitis can cause pain, loss of appetite, and<br />

fever or perforati<strong>on</strong>.<br />

This can also be called colorectal cancer. It is<br />

cancer of the bowel that IBD patients are at<br />

bowel habit, abdominal pain, lumps in the<br />

abdomen, and weight loss.<br />
