Our core business is to provide cost management services to the construction industry. Our client base includes subcontractors, contractors, corporates, private businesses and public sector organisations. We adopt industry accepted approaches to cost management/ procurement. We apply these diligently and conscientiously to each project. Our staff regularly undertake CPD training and university studies in order to keep abreast of developments in the industry. In addition to our collective experience and expertise, Our software systems enable us to deliver efficient services to our clients. We are also currently looking at ways in which we can further benefit our clients using Building Information Model [BIM]. Many of QS Consults’ clients are already involved in the construction industry with our services complementing their own. By way of example with public sector clients we can prepare cost studies (including market testing) to enable them to make more informed decisions regarding proposed projects and estates strategies. On the other hand for contractors and sub-contractor’s we provide estimating and tendering services allowing them to focus on their core business of delivering construction projects. Just some of our projects are shown below: Some clients we work with may have never been involved in construction before and may be considering a one-off construction project. As quantity surveyors we can provide guidance on managing costs and how to minimise costs risks associated with construction projects. From the Programme editor I’d like to welcome everyone from Peacehaven & Telscombe. Peacehaven & Telscombe have had a tur-bulent couple of seasons so far as money troubles begin to bite. Through necessity they are a young team and through our own youngsters we know that this is not necessarily a bad thing! More about a lo-cal club with financial problems below. Talking to many of you the trip to Guernsey was one of the highlights of the season. They are always very welcoming, and having the chance to spend a few days on the Island is a great plus. One of their committee members came up to me at the end of the game and said what a lovely club we are with great supporters and its always a pleasure to see us, so supporters give yourselves a pat on the back! I hear that the ladies rugby team were very entertaining! And I expect that you are already planning next years sojourn to the Island. Just a pity that the fog caused a few problems including my flight on Friday which was delayed a couple of hours. It was also a pity that not much was open, although I did get to see the aquarium! At first glance having no VAT payable on the Island sounds great but in practice, prices, (except for the Vodka and whisky that I bought), were really not any cheaper, some prices, in Boots for example, were actually dearer. The locals say its because transport costs are added on. I had a good chat to Deputy Mike O’Hara, Minister of Culture & Leisure for the States of Guernsey, and it was great to see that he is a wholehearted supporter of the club. On the local football front I see that Ashford Utd have been informed by the league that “they have no alternative due to recent events that the club will have to suffer a 10 point reduction until AUFC exonerates itself through the courts in the next couple of weeks.” Ashford were 3rd in the table until the deduction. According to companies house web site Ashford United Football Club limited are in receivership. Their local paper believes that they are £150,000 in debt. Sheppey Utd are second in the Kent Invicta League. Two clubs go up in that league to the Southern Counties East Football League Those who have applied, as well as Sheppey Utd, are Bearsted, Glebe, AC London, Lydd Town and Meriden VP. Those in contention from the SCEFL to join our league provided they meet ground grading are: Greenwich Borough who are currently top, and Hollands & Blair who are second. Next come Lordswood, Ashford Utd and Corinthian, all between 19 and 21 points behind the leading pair with between 7 and 10 games still to play. Just three home games left, now for us, two of which are local derbies against Faversham Town and Hythe Town. Our away match at Chatham Town on Saturday 16th April is free entry, and that is followed by our last match of the season at home to Molesey. The awards evening is being held straight after that game. Give your usual rousing support for the Brickies and enjoy the game! Peter Sponsors of the Woodstock stadium—www.dma-group.co.uk
