SMCHS Facts and History • The St. Mary’s Carnival is in its 60th year. • The teacher to student ratio is 1 to 12. • SMCHS works with the University of Mary to offer more than 28 college credits to upperclassmen, which are transferable to most colleges and universities. • The SMCHS graduates of 2009 and 2010 received an average if $14,000 in scholarships per student. • SMCHS is an NCACASI Accredited School. • SMCHS Alumni Office Funds at Work/Study and scholarship program for qualified SMCHS students. They contributed more that $61,000 to offset students’ tuition expenses. • Every 2 years, either the Marching Saints or Concert Choir goes on tour. • Students have the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Rome the end of their junior year. • Students have the opportunity to take a trip to Guatemala the end of their senior year. Students painted 2x6 boards for the Humanity House project at Corpus Christi Parish this past may. Boards were raffled or sponsored by parish members to raise funds for the project.
St. Mary’s Central High School What is the Circle of Saints? The Circle of Saints is St. Mary’s Central High School’s annual giving program. We charge approximately half of what it actually costs to educate a student through tuition because we want to remain affordable to everyone. The Circle of Saints is the primary way St. Mary’s Central High School makes up for the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating a student. How is the money raised through the Circle of Saints used? The funds raised through the Circle of Saints has three primary purposes: to provide our students with the resources they need, such as textbooks and new technology; to pay our dedicated teachers a decent living wage; and to pay for the needs of the building and grounds. How can I give to the Circle of Saints? There are many ways that you can give to the Circle of Saints. Many people prefer to give once yearly, others like to give on a monthly basis, and some just want to make a one-time gift. No matter what amount you choose to give, please know that each and every gift is sincerely appreciated and needed! There are also several options to make a gift to SMCHS’s Circle of Saints annual giving program, including by check, cash, credit card, ACH or a stock transfer. Giving Clubs Each person who gives towards the Circle of Saints annual giving program is listed in our annual report by giving clubs, based upon gifts given from August 1st to July 31st of each fiscal year.
