St. Mary’s Central High School Academic Report As the largest and oldest Catholic high school in North Dakota, St. Mary’s Central High School has been offering a quality curriculum in a Catholic-Christian environment for over ninety years. The charts below show how the students at St. Mary’s Central High School score on different exams in comparison to other students throughout the state. 2009 American College Test Scores The American College Test (ACT) is the most widely accepted college entrance exam used throughout the United States. Each year, high school senior students take this test as a means of admitting them to universities and colleges throughout the United States. The graph below shows how SMCHS students scored in comparison to the North Dakota average. Page 12 2009 North Dakota Assessment Testing Scores The North Dakota State Assessment measures students’ accomplishments in the areas of mathematics and reading. This exam is taken on an annual basis by all juniors across the state of North Dakota to judge how well SMCHS students are comprehending the information taught to them in the classroom. The graphs below show how well SMCHS students scored in comparison to students in the North Dakota public schools. Reading Mathematics
St. Mary’s Central High School 2009 Hall of Fame In September 2009, St. Mary’s Central High School (SMCHS) held its fifth annual Hall of Fame Weekend. This tradition began in 2005 as a way to recognize and thank individuals who have made a significant impact on the history of St. Mary’s Central High School. There are four categories in the Hall of Fame: Alumni, Athletics, Fine Arts, and Friends and Benefactors.
