Follow-up exploration in Yejiaba area
MINCO Gold has started an exploration
program at the Longnan pr oject in Gansu
province aimed at following up multiple drill
targets defined in its 2010 and 2011 pr ograms.
The new program is focusing primarily
on the Shajinba and Baimashi sub-areas
within the Yejiaba area, and includes surface
trenching, sampling, drilling and tunnelling.
The company has planned about 3000
metres of diamond drilling in eight holes and
about 3000 metres of underground tunnelling
designed to follow-up the drill targets.
The surface trenching and sampling is being
conducted to determine the overall footprint
of the multiple gold zones identified in the
Yejiaba metallogenic trend.
The initial parts of the pr ogram include
mobilization of geological teams, initiation of
surface work, and the delivery and set up of
a drill rig at the Baimashi gold zone. Testing
of Baimashi Zones 1 and 2, along with the
corresponding induced polarization anomalies
previously defined at the depth will be
conducted to pr ovide data for initial r esource
definition and program extensions.
Canadian-based Minco Gold has successfully
maintained 12 exploration permits
in the south of Gansu province, collectively
referred to as the Longnan project. As well
as the exploration follow-up, the company
has initiated construction of an access road

to the Yejiaba area facilitating the tunnelling
and drilling. Minco Gold owns an exploration
property portfolio covering more than
1000sqkm of mineral rights in China.
Meanwhile, Minco Gold’s vice president finance
and chief financial officer Paul Zhang
resigned during April with the company’ s
corporate controller Ellen Wei appointed interim
chief financial of ficer. She has been
with the company since February 2005 and
was appointed corporate controller in January
2009.
