Das Jahr 2007
Die mittelfristige Forschungsstrategie des Institutes
wurde im Jahr 2007 weiterentwickelt. Ein Kernziel sind
dabei schnelle siliziumbasierte Technologien, um neue
Anwendungen wie Datenraten bis zu 100 Gbps drahtlos,
bildgebende Terahertz-Anwendungen oder extrem
schnelle Datenübertragung in oder zwischen Schaltkreisen
kostengünstig möglich zu machen. Deshalb ist
die Realisierung wesentlich höherer Arbeitsfrequenzen
im THz-Bereich bzw. bei optischen Frequenzen eine
zentrale Aufgabe. Schritte dazu sind die Erhöhung der
Leistungsfähigkeit von Heterobipolar-Transistoren bis
an die Grenze des Realisierbaren, die Integration neuartiger
Bauelemente sowie die Erarbeitung optischer
Übertragungs-Technologien für die Integration von
Lichtemittern, Modulatoren, Lichtleitern, und Empfängern
in Silizium.
Der Realisierung der strategischen Ziele dient auch die
weitere Vernetzung des IHP mit regionalen Hochschulen.
Es wurden gemeinsame Berufungen mit der TU Berlin,
der BTU Cottbus und der TFH Wildau ausgeschrieben.
Dr. Peter Langendörfer wurde zum Honorarprofessor der
BTU Cottbus ernannt. Zusätzlich zu den existierenden
gemeinsamen Laboren mit der BTU Cottbus und der TFH
Wildau wurde die Gründung gemeinsamer Labore mit
der TU Berlin und der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
vorbereitet.
Das IHP führte 2007 wieder mehrere wissenschaftliche
Veranstaltungen in Frankfurt (Oder) durch. Beispiele
dafür sind das IHP-Symposium „Fortschritte der Fotovoltaik“
am 18. April, der Workshop „Neue Entwicklungen
in Röntgendiffraktometrie und -topographie“ am
24. April, die 6. Internationale Sommerschule vom 28.
August. bis zum 01. September sowie der 6. Workshop
„High-Performance SiGe BiCMOS“ am 10. September.
Erstmals konnten im Jahr 2007 mehr als 8 Mio. Euro
Drittmittel eingeworben werden. So wurden bereits im
ersten Call des 7. EU-Forschungsrahmenprogramms
durch das IHP und dessen Partner vier Projekte gewonnen.
Für die Jahre 2008 bis 2010 sind 22,5 Mio.
Euro EFRE-Mittel (EU-Anteil) für Investitionen in Forschungsausrüstungen
bestätigt.

the institute‘s medium-term research strategy
was further developed in 2007. A core target
is faster silicon based technologies to enable
solutions for new applications such as up to
100 Gbps wireless, imaging terahertz applications or
very high data-rate transmission in or between circuits.
therefore, the realisation of considerably higher
working frequencies of devices in the tHz range
and at optical frequencies is a central task. Steps in
this direction are the increasing of the performance
of HBts to the limits, the integration of new device
types as well as the development of optical technologies
for the integration of light emitters, modulators,
wave guides and receivers in silicon.
the continuing networking of the IHp with regional
universities also serves the strategic goals. there
were joint appointments with the tu Berlin, the Btu
Cottbus and the tFH Wildau advertised. Dr. peter langendörfer
was appointed Honorary professor of Btu
Cottbus. In addition to the existing joint laboratories
with the Btu Cottbus and the tFH Wildau the foundation
of additional joint laboratories with the tu Berlin
and the Humboldt university Berlin is arranged.
In 2007, the IHp again organized several scientific
events in Frankfurt (oder). examples are the IHp
Symposium “Advances in photovoltaics” on April 18,
the workshop “new Developments in X-ray Diffraction
and topographie” on April 24, the “6 th International
Summer School” from August 28 until September 01
and the 6 th workshop on “High-performance SiGe BiC-
MoS” on September 10.
For the first time the IHp received more than 8 million
euros third-party funds in 2007. Already in the first
call of the 7 th eu Research Framework programme the
IHp and its partners won four projects. For the years
2008 to 2010 are 22.5 million euros eRDF (eu share)
for investment in IHp`s research equipment confirmed.
