Materialien für die Mikro- und Nanoelektronik Die Materialforschung am IHP hat die Integration neuer Materialien in gegenwärtige und zukünftige Technologien zum Ziel, um so verbesserte, zusätzliche oder neuartige Funktionalitäten zu erreichen. Darüber hinaus werden Grundlagen für neue Forschungsgebiete am IHP geschaffen. Gegenstand der Arbeiten sind neue Hoch-k-Dielektrika sowie die Erforschung neuer Prinzipien für Hochleistungs-Schaltkreise unter Nutzung von Nanostrukturen bzw. optischer Datenübertragung. Die letztgenannten Arbeiten werden in einem Gemeinsamen Labor mit der BTU Cottbus durchgeführt. Aktuelle Schwerpunkte der Arbeiten zu neuen Hochk-Dielektrika sind binäre und ternäre Legierungen für zukünftige Anwendungen in MIM-Kondensatoren, Speichern und Transistoren sowie als Epitaxievermittler für globale hochwertige heteroepitaktische Halbleiterschichten(Halbleiter-Isolator-Halbleiter-Schichtstapel). Weiterhin werden neue Materialien für akustische Oberflächenwellenfilter (SAW-Filter) und für nichtflüchtige Speicher (NVM-Speicher) bewertet. Gegenstand der Arbeiten im Gemeinsamen Labor mit der BTU Cottbus ist die Si-Materialforschung. Dabei sollen die Eigenschaften des Si-Materials maßgeschneidert werden, um neue Anwendungen zu ermöglichen und um bestehende Anwendungen zu verbessern. Schwerpunkte sind die grundlagenorientierte Vorlaufforschung zu Si-basierten Lichtemittern für die optische Datenübertragung, zum „Defect Engineering“ für zukünftige Si-Wafer, zum Bandstrukturdesign und Ladungsträgertransport in Si-basierten Quantenstrukturen und zur Beherrschung der elektrischen Eigenschaften von Kristalldefekten in Solar-Si. F O R S C H U N G d E S I H P – I H P ‘ S R E S E A R C H Materials for Micro- and Nanoelectronics Materials research at IHp targets the integration of new materials into current and future technologies to achieve additional, better or innovative functionalities. It also gears towards the preparation of new research fields at the institute. Subject of the research are new high-k dielectrics and the research of new concepts for high-performance circuits using nanostructures or optical data transmission. the latter work is done at the Joint lab IHp/ Btu Cottbus. Current focal points of the activities with high-k dielectrics are binary and ternary alloys for future applications in MIM capacitors, memories and transistors as well as for epitaxy mediation for global high quality heteroepitactical semiconductor layers (silicon-insulator-silicon stacks). Additionally, new materials for SAW filters and non-volatile memories are evaluated. Silicon materials research is the subject matter of the Joint lab IHp / Btu. Silicon properties are tailored to enable new applications and to improve existing ones. Focuses are initial basic research for Si-based light emitters for optical data transmission, defect engineering for future silicon wafers, band structure design and charge carrier transport in Si-based quantum structures, and the control of electrical properties of crystal defects in solar silicon.
