Impuls-Radio-Ultra-Breitband-Technologie (IR-UWB)
gewinnt wegen der enormen Bandbreite und wegen des
geringen Energieverbrauchs zunehmend an Interesse
muss. Im Projekt TANDEM soll ein hoch energieeffizientes
IR-UWB-Kommunikationssystem entwickelt und
implementiert werden, das kompatibel zum Standard
IEEE 802.15.4a ist. Die Blockdiagramme für dieses
System sind in Abb. 7 dargestellt.
Es wird ein Transceiver mit einem nicht-kohärenten
Empfänger in der Technologie SGB25V des IHP entwickelt.
Das IR-UWB-Radio besteht aus zwei Teilen: aus
dem Hochfrequenz-Teil und dem digitalen Basisband.
Im Basisband werden die folgenden Signalverarbeitungsalgorithmen
implementiert: Kanalkodierung &
Dekodierung, Pulse Position Modulation & Demodulation
und Binary Phase Shift Keying Modulation &
Demodulation. Datenpakete beinhalten sogenannte
2 ns
Gaußsche Impulse werden dann auf 7,9872 GHz hoch
gemischt.
Reed Solomon und Faltungskodierungsschema werden
im Basisband verwendet um Bitfehler am Empfänger
zu minimieren. Die Preamble besteht aus einer Ternärsequenz
(-1.0,1) mit der Länge 31, worin zwischen
den Elementen 15 Nullstellen eingefügt werden. Die
Ir-uwB Communication for wireless
Sensors
Impulse radio ultra wideband (IR-uWB) wireless
communication systems have been gaining increasing
interests in both research and industry especially
due to its enormous bandwidth and lower power
consuming capabilities. Furthermore, a very accurate
localisation in the cm range is possible with IR-uWB.
the main application areas are wireless sensors where
extremely energy efficient solutions are needed. With
the tAnDeM project we aim to develop and implement
a low power IR-uWB wireless communication system
which is compatible to the standard Ieee 802.15.4a.
the block diagram of the complete system is shown
in Fig. 7.
For simplicity reasons, a transceiver that contains a
non-coherent receiver known as energy detector is
developed with the technology SGB25V. the IR-uWB
radio consist of two different parts mainly radio frequency
front end and digital baseband. At the digital
baseband, channel coding decoding, pulse position
modulation (ppM), demodulation and binary phase
shift keying (BpSK) modulation and demodulation are
performed. the data packet contains some preamble
symbols for synchronisation and gain setting purposes.
Mandatory recommendation in high band is
developed which suggests data rate to be 850 kbps.
Within a symbol with the duration of 1024 ns, 2 bits
are transmitted one is contained in the position of a
burst consisting of 16 chips each with 2 ns duration
and the other one is in the polarity. Hence, the receiver
should detect first the position of a burst within
a symbol if it is placed in the first or in the second
half and second the polarity of the burst. 2 ns Gaussian
pulses are then up-converted to the frequency
7.9872 GHz.
Reed Solomon and convolution encoding schemes are
used to improve the link performance by correcting
the bit errors occurring at the receiver. As a preamble
a ternary code (-1, 0,1) with the length of 31 is adopted
and 15 zeros are inserted between the elements
