GALS-Interface für die Integration komplexer
digitaler Systeme (GALAXY)
GALS (Global Asynchron, Lokal Synchron)-Design-Flow
In diesem
GALS Interface for Complex digital System
Integration (GALAXy)
this project builds on a technological approach in
which the eu currently has world leadership, thanks
to previous pan-european funding. Here, we present
an integrated GAlS (Globally Asynchronous, locally
Synchronous) design flow, which, together with novel
network-on-Chip capabilities, considerably simplifies
embedded system design for a significant class of
problems. We aim to remove existing barriers to the
adoption of the technology by providing an interoperability
framework between the existing open and
commercial CAD tools that supports development of
heterogeneous systems at the different levels of abstraction.
the project evaluates the ability of the GAlS
approach to solve system integration issues and, by
implementing a complex wireless communication
system on an advanced 40 nm CMoS process, to explore
the low electromagnetic interference (eMI) properties,
inherent low-power features and robustness
to process variability problems in nanoscale geometries.
In the context of this project IHp was focused on exploring
the eMI reduction using the GAlS approach.
In this respect, we have first built a CAD tool able to
model eMI in timing and frequency domain for GAlS
and synchronous systems on a very abstract level. one
snapshot of this tool application is shown in Fig. 3.
