Michael Wignall gets underway at Gidleigh Park
Gidleigh Park celebrated on Friday
22 January, as a new era got
underway with Michael Wignall’s
first service at the iconic Devon hotel.
Guests were welcomed with a chilled
glass of Champagne and sat down to
enjoy Michael’s brand new 10 course
tasting menu, including dishes
such as ʻOctopus pressé, Portland
crab, smoked scallop roe emulsion,
ginger and seaweed, radish and
basil’, and ʻFresh ricotta lightly
smoked, watercress, chargrilled
ʻhen of the wood’, nasturtium and
celeriac’. Supported by his new
brigade in the kitchen, including
eight chefs who have travelled to
Devon with Michael to continue
working alongside him, Gidleigh
Park’s new Executive Head Chef.

Hilary’s Marathon
Acupuncture awareness week in
March is related to sport and how
acupuncture can help recovery from
injury sustained in exercise. How
appropriate that Hilary Sharp, an
acupuncturist practising in East Devon
is well ....jogging, with a lot of walking
at the London Marathon in April 2016.
Hilary is running for Brain Research
as in 1989 she had a subarachnoid
haemorrhage. Surgery resolved the
problem, but left her with major daily
headaches. It was acupuncture that
resolved the headaches and allowed
her to continue her life generally pain
free. Hilary is offering treatment
during acupuncture awareness week
(7-13th March) @ £25 per treatment,
donating the week’s income to: Brain
Research via virginmoneygiving/Hilary
Sharp. Hilary has clinics in Axminster
Honiton & Charmouth, see page 92.

The Dogs Trust Ilfracombe wish to
remind all dog owners that the deadline
for microchipping dogs is the 6th of
April. Also, it’s required that all contact
details on the microchip are up to date.
