KINGSTON FRONTENACS gameday report
FRONTENACS LOOK TO STIFLE THE SPIRIT
frontenacs looking to add ground on niagara and barrie battling for second
While the Frontenacs had an easy go of the Flint
Firebirds last Friday night at Rogers K-Rock Centre,
don’t expect the same easy approach tonight when
they face the Saginaw Spirit. Sure, the Spirit are only 7
points and 1 place ahead of the faltering Firebirds in
the Western Conference, but Saginaw is no easy pushover.
The Spirit have 18 wins, 22 regulation losses, 2
overtime losses, and 2 shootout loss, for 40 points.
They are 4 points behind the Soo Greyhounds for
7th, with Soo having the game in hand. In the past 10
games, the Spirit have 4 wins 5 regulation loss, and 1
shootout losses.
While Saginaw looks to continue to hold the final
playoff spot in the Western Conference by adding
points to their season–the 3-1 loss last night in Peterborough
didn’t help their cause–the Frontenacs continue
to hold top spot in the Eastern Conference. Coming
off last weekend’s 2 wins in 3 games, the Fronts have
57 points and hold a 6 point lead over the Barrie Colts
for top spot in the Conference and 9 points over the
Peterborough Petes for the lead in the East Division.
Kingston has 27 wins, 13 regulation losses, 2 overtime
losses, and 1 shootout loss, for 57 points. In the past
10 games, the Frontenacs have 7 wins and 3 regulation
losses.
BELL LET’S TALK: Frontenacs Captain Roland McKeown
is featured in a number of public service announcements
airing during tonight’s game on the videoboard
promoting Bell Let’s Talk Day on January 27.
to mental health initiatives across the country.
BIG WEEKEND: After tonight’s game the Frontenacs
hit the road on another 3-games-in-3-days weekend,
with a highly anticipated match-up tomorrow in Barrie
vs. the Colts and on Sunday afternoon in North Bay vs.
the Battalion. Since January 1, Kingston has won 2 of 3
games on each of these 3-in-3 weekends. KF
