next time you’re in London? Today
221B Baker Street is a museum.
When you walk into the rooms in
the house, you step back 150
years in time!
The study, where Holmes worked,
is on the first floor. You can sit in
his armchair next to the fire and
look out of the window. Many of
Holmes’s personal things are in
the study: his violin, his pipe and
hat. Upstairs is Dr Watson’s
bedroom. Here you can read the
diary Dr Watson wrote when he
lived with Holmes. You can also
visit the library.
The museum is open every day
except Christmas Day, from
9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The price is
£6 for adults and £4 for children.
The museum is in Baker Street,
just a short walk from Baker
Street underground station.
