MARCH BREAK AT
Theme Camps
Welcome to a world of imagination and
wonder. Theme camps bring stories and
characters to life with experienced, talented
and animated staff who are dedicated
to providing fun and adventures for all
campers. Themes are further enhanced
with games, crafts, swimming, special
events, and visits from extraordinary guests
and out-trips to exciting locations. For
4-5yr old (kindergarten age) campers, all
activities take place on-site at Dovercourt
with the same comfortable daily routine
of school. For school-aged campers, most
theme camp activities take place at off-site
locations near Dovercourt, but drop off and
pick up is always at Dovercourt.
Specialty Camps
Specialty camps offer campers the
opportunity to try something new and
develop their talents in a fun and friendly
environment. At least half the day is spent
on the specialty and the rest of the day
is balanced with other creative camp
activities including outdoor play, crafts and
swimming.
Special Needs
Dovercourt is committed to the inclusion of
campers with special needs. Please make
us aware of any special requirements for
medication, mobility or other resources
your child may need to participate at the
time of registration. For questions, to

Extended Care
Child care is available from 7:30am until
camp begins and after camp until 6:00pm.
Pre and Post camp offers supervised, semistructured
activities including indoor games
and arts and crafts. Fee of $43 includes
both before and after camp care for the
week and a post-camp snack for all
campers at 5:15pm.
Camp Lunches
Please send your child with a lunch as well as
a morning and afternoon snack, or purchase
a convenient lunch and snack package from
Adam’s Apple Café. Cost is $42 for the week
and includes a drink, snacks and a sandwich
or wrap. Not recommended for campers
with specific dietary restrictions or allergies.
Camp lunches are not available for Snow
Cats Campers.
Camp Swims
Swim times are incorporated into most of our
camp programs. Campers younger than 6yrs
must wear a PFD (provided by us) and remain
in the baby pool and the ramp area. Campers
6yrs and older are permitted in the shallow
part of the pool, and the deep end if they
pass a swim test. Most camp groups do not
swim every day so please refer to the camp
newsletter for which days to bring a swimsuit
and towel.

Theme
Camps
Kinder Canuck
This program is geared toward kids in
kindergarten and includes a balance of
crafts, games and activities all centered
around a Canadian theme. We’ll make
maple candy and snow forts, then wear
our favourite hockey jerseys on Friday for a
Senators pre-game party. With the comfort
of our kindergarten room and the routine
of school, kindergarteners will stay on
track while making the most of their break.
4-5yrs – $220

Canuck
From maple syrup to the hockey
game – we’re celebrating everything
that makes this country great! We’ll make
maple candy then head downtown for
a parliamentary scavenger hunt. Finally,
wear your favourite hockey jersey on
Friday for an Ottawa Senators pre-game
party. This program provides a balance of
Canadian activities with crafts, outdoor
play and swimming.

Specialty Camps
Sports 4-5
$262
For our youngest athletes, this multisport
camp is based on the Canadian
Sport for Life (CS4L) model, which
emphasizes the importance of learning
fundamental movement skills at a young
age. This program is designed and
lead by Dovercourt counselors, who
are experienced in school and club
sports, with an emphasis on teaching
the ABC’s of sport: Agility, Balance and
Coordination. Campers will stay active
during the break playing games indoors
and outside, in the gym and in the pool.

Sports 6-8yrs

This multi-sport camp is designed and
lead by Dovercourt counselors who
are experienced in school and club
sports with an emphasis on teaching
the ABC’s of sport: Agility, Balance
and Coordination. The Canadian Sport
for Life (CS4L) model emphasizes the
importance of children trying a variety of
different sports at a young age, yearround,
both in the water and on land,
and indoors as well as outdoors. With
an emphasis on participation and fun,
campers will practice a variety of different
sports including soccer, basketball,
hockey, skating and swimming.

Swimming 7-9yrs

This camp is perfect for kids who can’t
get enough of the water. With at least
half of the day spent in the pool with
a certified instructor and lifeguard,
you’ll work on swim strokes, learn new
techniques to go farther and faster, and
of course play lots of your favourite water
games. All campers must be able to swim
a minimum of 5m unassisted and be
comfortable in and around the water.

Art Mix 4-6yrs

Art camp offers a week of creativity and
imagination. Young artists will try a bit of
everything including painting, pottery
handbuilding, drawing lessons and a
variety of unique crafts. Parents are invited
to a special exhibition on Friday, where our
young designers and artists will show off
what they’ve been working on all week.

Spend March Break in the Youth Zone
Clubhouse. Designed specifically for
students in grades 6 and 7, this program
includes leadership activities, individual
and group challenges and a pizza & movie
night.

kitchen and put your creativity and culinary
skills to the test. Learn the best techniques
from the best in the business and then
compete in mystery box, recipe-creating
and taste-test challenges.

Theatre 8-12yrs

Dovercourt’s Bluesfest School of Music and Arts
presents March Break Camps. Learn to be a
triple threat on stage! At Musical Theatre Camp,
under the direction of our amazing coaches, you
will learn to sing, dance and act in preparation
for the Friday afternoon performance on the
BSOMA stage.

Lego Builders 5-7yrs – $290
A program designed specifically for campers who can’t get enough
LEGO. Let your imagination soar in a week of building structures,
bridges, and work as a team on a mega-city project.

Turnbull Camp – $185
For those who have an extra week off school, join us at Dovercourt
for a week of activities include outdoor games, rock climbing and
swimming. Program runs from 9:00am-4:00pm at Dovercourt, with
optional extended care. Program runs March 21 to 24, 2016.

Snow Cats 8-14yrs – $364
In partnership with Ski Vorlage, this downhill ski and snowboard
program includes daily lessons from certified instructors, as
well as a variety of group activities on the hill. With enhanced
supervision and age appropriate activities in small groups,
this camp is ideal for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels.
Please note that helmets are mandatory and available to rent
if required. All participants must fill out and sign a waiver,
available for download at www.dovercourt.org. Pick up and
drop off for this program will take place at J.A. Dulude Arena,
941 Clyde Ave with optional extended care. Equipment (skis,
poles, boots for skiing or board and boots for snowboarding)
rentals are available for an additional $100/week. Helmets are
also available to rent for $25/week.
