Parameter 2: Availability of Cycle Tracks<br />
Description: Availability of dedicated and exclusive cycle<br />
tracks is one of the ways to encourage cycl<strong>in</strong>g. This aga<strong>in</strong><br />
greatly reduces conflict with other modes and <strong>in</strong>creases<br />
speed and comfort as well as a sense of safety. But at<br />
the same time, a street with relatively low traffic should<br />
not be penalized for not hav<strong>in</strong>g cycle track. Therefore<br />
this parameter can be looked at from a network po<strong>in</strong>t<br />
of view, especially when connect<strong>in</strong>g to public transport<br />
term<strong>in</strong>als or transit po<strong>in</strong>ts. An obstruction free cycle track<br />
is given higher rat<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
