CONVERSATIONAL SPANISH

Do you want to speak Spanish more fluently? Do you
have a solid knowledge base and strong vocabulary,
but no opportunity to practice or improve? This class
will provide ample opportunities for you to practice
your Spanish as we discuss current events, social
issues, arts and culture. We will also read and
discuss short articles, have small and large group
discussions, debates about two sides of an issue, and
incorporate music, video and film into our discussions.
Classes will also include brief lessons on grammar to
help students increase their mastery of the language.
Join us – you will improve your Spanish, have fun,
and enjoy interesting discussions with others! Limited
to 16.

FAMILY SCIENCE FIELDTRIP EVENT:
CAMBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY
The Needham Science Center invites the
Needham community to the opening day of the
Cambridge Science Festival. This event will
serve in lieu of Family Science Night while our
traditional host, the Newman School, undergoes
renovations. Needham Family Science Fieldtrip
Day in Cambridge will feature presenters from
the Needham Science Center, along with
demonstrations from Needham elementary,
High Rock, and Pollard students. If you are
interested in volunteering at this event, or
serving as a presenter, please contact the
Science Center at 781-455-0475.

REMOVING THE MYSTERY OF THE
COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCESS

The college application process and all that leads up
to it can be so overwhelming – for both students and
their parents. Join a college coach for an overview
of the whole process to become more informed,
learn valuable tips, and help reduce the anxiety that
frequently hits families at this time. We will cover
the SATs and ACTs, the college essay, the Common
Application, and much more. We will also discuss
the anxiety and rebellious feelings students often
experience – and what you can do to defuse these.
You will leave with a clearer sense of the process and
many choices, and some ideas on how to maintain
some perspective throughout. Limited to 18.
