Wang Watershed Management Project<br />

Wang watershed.<br />
Renewable Natural Resources Extension Support<br />
• The Extension Support Project is an institutional streng<strong>the</strong>ning project designed, through collaboration between RGoB and <strong>the</strong><br />
Commission, to improve <strong>the</strong> efficiency of <strong>the</strong> extension services and make <strong>the</strong>m more responsive to <strong>the</strong> needs of <strong>the</strong> rural<br />
people.<br />
• The wider objective of <strong>the</strong> project is to support self-reliance, promote sustainable use of natural resources and support <strong>the</strong><br />
participation of rural people in <strong>the</strong>ir own economic development.<br />
Medicinal Plants-Phase II<br />
• To ensure <strong>the</strong> conservation of medicinal plant resource in <strong>the</strong> high altitude areas of <strong>Bhutan</strong>; to improve <strong>the</strong> incomes,<br />
employment opportunities and livelihoods of rural communities in high altitude areas; to streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> organization,<br />
management and cost-effectiveness of <strong>the</strong> medicinal plants industry; and to enhance <strong>the</strong> availability of high quality medicinal<br />
plant products and traditional medicines for both <strong>the</strong> internal and external market.<br />
