Coychurch WI
Following a warm welcome
to the December
afternoon meeting by the
president Sandra Davidson the
Williams Memorial Hall looked
very welcoming with tasty
snacks, mince pies and mulled
wine adorning the decorated
tables; and also with the stalls
promoting their Christmas
products.
After the business of the
meeting a two part fun
Christmas Themed Quiz
Llanharan OAP
Members are looking
forward to another
full year of outings
and celebrations in 2016.
From March 2015 we enjoyed
monthly outings including
shopping trips and a cream
tea on board a boat in Upton
On Severn.
We celebrated a wedding
anniversary and a 90th
birthday.
We enjoyed various speakers
with a wide variety of topics.
Our Christmas activities
included a Christmas lunch
and concert at Pencoed
Comprehensive School, a
buffet and concert at Y Pant
followed with the winning
team comprising of Sheila
Carr, Janet James, Marion
Lewis, Hilary Locke, Thelma
Taylor and Natalie White; all
good entertainment.
The meeting on January 2nd
will also commence at 1.30pm
with a fish/chicken and chips
luncheon.
We will then revert back to
our usual time of 7.30pm from
the meeting on February 6th
(the 1st Tuesday of the month
in the Williams Memorial Hall,
Coychurch).

Dolau School.
We entered the Christmas
Tree Festival at Llanharan
Church with a very familiar
fairy on top of the tree.
Following our annual ‘Turkey
and Tinsel’ outing in Torquay
the secretary has booked the
same hotel for 2016, more
information will follow.

We had our annual
Christmas lunch at
the beginning of
December in a new venue
Llanharry Working Mens Club.
The meal was excellent so
congratulations to the
club’s caterers and
also to the entertainer
who certainly provided
Christmas cheer,
jokes and music which
was enjoyed by all.
“Karaoke” is not for me
but certain people have
great voices, perhaps we
will have to join a cancer
choir!
On Saturday 12th
December we had two
stalls at the Christmas
Fayre in the Athletic Club,
Pontyclun organised by
Pontyclun Action Group.
This is definitely a popular
venue with crowds
attending the lead up to
Christmas and to see
the arrival of Father
