Pontyclun and
District Macmillan
Fundraising Group
Last month we mentioned
two events that were to
take place and that we
would tell you the amounts
they raised.
Rob and the gang from Heath
Tyres raised a marvellous £150
for their Movember event
and a whopping £1053.00
was raised at Maddy Davises
fantastic Barn Dance. This
was so successful that Maddy
plans to hold another event
next year in the Athletic Club
at Halloween…look out for
that one!
We had a stall again this
year at Pontyclun’s Victorian
Fair on 12th December. We
collected a massive £365.45.
This total was from our raffle,
which comprised 2 fabulous
seasonal hampers, the
contents donated by group
members and supporters,
nearly £100 raised by group
member Sheila with her
stunning knitted blanket raffle
and as always very generous
support from you all. Well
done Sheila and thanks to
everyone who worked the stall
and contributed to the total.
This takes our grand total
raised to date to £37,245.62,
amazing!
We have another bucket
collection outside Argos on
January 16th. This is part of
their national programme
and we are looking forward to
meeting as many of our lovely
donators as possible. Please
come up and say hello.
Now Christmas is over and
with too much Christmas pud
and chocs etc how about
making your new year’s
resolution to get fit for the
Macmillan Llantrisant Walk on
September 4th. The route is
easy, scenic, children, family
and animal friendly. It will be a
family event and at the venue,
the Llantrisant Liesure Centre
during the day there will be
a bouncy castle & we plan to
have a big party to welcome
the walking heroes home. We
may even persuade a surprise
personality to start the event
& join in!!

February 26th Come on all
you clever clogs, join in, be
part of the Guinness Book
of records attempt to be the
largest quiz in the UK again
and help raise money for
Macmillan.
The Grand Variety Show Night,
Llanharry Workman’s Club, on
April 22nd. This is our third
Variety show we are staging
and do we plan to entertain
and delight you!

Taff Ely Ramblers
Well It’s the end of
the year and what
a glorious year Taff
Ely Ramblers have had out
and about walking both coast
countryside.
Thanks to all our leaders for
some fabulous walks and we
look forward to more places
POLICE SURGERIES
LLANTRISANT – Every other Wednesday
at Llantrisant Community Council Offices.
Every Friday at Llantrisant Community Library
at Llantrisant Leisure Centre 2.30pm
to visit in 2016. Why not come
along and join us.
We meet every Sunday at
Llantrisant leisure centre at
9.15 for car share.
Saturdays as per program.
Good walking boots, a packed
lunch and wet weather gear is
all that’s needed.
