sportsmanship.<br />

AS A SOPHOMORE (<strong>2014</strong>):<br />

• Turned in a solid performance in his second year as a starter.<br />

• Led the team in passes broken up with 11.<br />

• Earned the team’s Dewayne Washington Award for Defensive Back of the<br />

Year.<br />

• An Academic All-ACC performer for the second time.<br />

• Named to the <strong>2014</strong>-15 ACC Academic Honor Roll.<br />

AS A FRESHMAN (2013):<br />

• Co-recipient of the team’s Philip Rivers Award - given to the Most Valuable<br />

Freshman.<br />

• Only one of two freshmen to start a game on defense, he got the nod in the<br />

last seven games.<br />

• In his first career start vs. Syracuse, picked off two passes in 35 snaps before<br />

leaving the game with an injury. He was named the ACC Rookie of the Week<br />

for that performance.<br />

• An Academic All-ACC performer.<br />

IN HIGH SCHOOL:<br />

• Played cornerback, running back and safety for coach Bill Geiler.<br />

• Played in the 2012 Shrine Bowl.<br />

• Helped lead team to a 10-3 record and second round of the state playoffs.<br />

• Was named school’s 2012 Scholar Athlete of the Year.<br />

• Honors: Named to the Associated Press all-state team. Conference<br />

Co-Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Southwestern Conference performer<br />

as a junior and senior.<br />

• Scored an 83-yard TD vs. Boston College - that was the<br />

longest throw of QB Jacoby Brissett’s career and tied as the ninth-longest<br />

pass in school history.<br />

• Left the Syracuse game after two snaps with an injury.<br />

• Scored his first career touchdown on an 59-yard throw from Brissett in the<br />

win at Wake Forest.<br />

AS A FRESHMAN (<strong>2014</strong>):<br />

• Redshirted the season.<br />

IN HIGH SCHOOL:<br />

• Played wide receiver for coach Adrian Jones.<br />

• Helped team to a 14-2 record and the 2013 <strong>NC</strong> 3AA state championship. He<br />

finished that game with eight catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns<br />

to earn Outstanding Offensive Player of the Game honors. Senior Stats:<br />

Caught 93 passes for 1,760 yards and 19 touchdowns. Tallied 2,190 all-purpose<br />

yards and 22 total TDs.<br />

• Junior Stats: Had 48 receptions for 948 yards and 15 touchdowns.<br />

• Honors: A 2013 Associated Press all-state selection. Selected to <strong>NC</strong>Preps.<br />

com 3A all-state team. A first-team all-conference selection. Played in the<br />

2013 North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl where he had four receptions<br />

for 26 yards.<br />
