2015 <strong>NC</strong> <strong>STATE</strong> <strong>FOOTBALL</strong> <strong>BOWL</strong> <strong>GUIDE</strong> / PLAYER BIOS<br />

• Ranks third in the ACC and 11th in the FBS in punt return average with a 13.3<br />

mark - that average would tie for 9th in school history if the season ended<br />

today.<br />

• Scored a touchdown on a 52-yard return in the win at Wake Forest.<br />

• Had four returns for 74 yards in the second game of the season against EKU -<br />

that’s more yards than the entire team had in <strong>2014</strong>.<br />

AS A SOPHOMORE (<strong>2014</strong>):<br />

• Tied as the third-leading receiver on the team with 27 catches for 354 yards.<br />

• Tied for third on the squad in touchdown scoring with five for the season -<br />

he had a pair in the season opener.<br />

AS A FRESHMAN (2013):<br />

• Played in the first nine games of the season, he started vs. Richmond.<br />

• Suffered a season-ending injury at Duke.<br />

• Signed with the Pack in late December of 2012 and enrolled for the 2013 spring<br />

semester.<br />

IN HIGH SCHOOL:<br />

• Played WR and DB for coach Bobby Curlings.<br />

• Helped lead his team to the <strong>NC</strong> 4A state championship and a perfect 15-0<br />

record. In the title game, had four catches for 89 yards and four rushes for 56<br />

yards and a score in a 39-38 comeback win over Porter Ridge.<br />

• Honors: An <strong>NC</strong>Preps.com all-state selection on defense .<br />

• Senior Stats: 39 catches for 795 yards and nine TDs; 46 tackles, 24 PBUs and<br />

four INTs (two for touchdowns); Also returned two kickoffs and a punt for<br />

touchdowns.<br />

AS A SOPHOMORE (2015):<br />

• Started every game at defensive end, he is the secondleading<br />

tackler on the squad with 62 stops, ranks<br />

second in tackles for loss (11.5) and in sacks (5.5).<br />

• Co-recipient of the team’s Carey Brewbaker Award for defensive lineman of<br />

the year.<br />

• Named the ACC Def. Lineman of the Week for the BC game after he led the<br />

team in tackles with nine in the win. He also tallied five tackles for loss - tied<br />

as the 10th best mark in school history.<br />

• Team leader for 2015 with three forced fumbles.<br />

• Moved to defensive end during 2015 spring drills, where he quickly moved<br />

up the depth chart.<br />

AS A FRESHMAN (<strong>2014</strong>):<br />

• Talented young linebacker who saw action mainly on special teams, from<br />

scrimmage in three contests.<br />

IN HIGH SCHOOL:<br />

• Played defensive end for coach Phillip Ironside. His senior squad finished<br />

11-2 and reached the Georgia 6A quarterfinals.<br />

• Honors: Played in the Cobb County All-Star Senior Bowl - he recorded a sack<br />

and returned an INT 40 yards for a TD in that game.<br />

• Rankings: No. 82 player in Georgia by rivals.coms. No. 49 OLB nationally by<br />

ESPN.com.<br />

• Personal: Father Aaron played at Georgia and brother Brandon is a RS-Sr. linebacker<br />

at Wake Forest. Cousin Nick currently plays RB at Georgia.<br />
