300 lb. offensive guard Tony<br />

Adams played competitive tennis<br />

all of his life before coming<br />

to <strong>NC</strong> State. He picked up the<br />

sport at the age of 2! Adams,<br />

who was 5-7 and weighed 250<br />

lbs. in the fifth grade, is the son<br />

of Carl Adams, who was the<br />

head wrestling coach at Boston<br />

University for 34 years.<br />

Quarterback Josh Taylor spent part of his summer with <strong>NC</strong><br />

State’s study abroad program in Spain.<br />

All-American offensive tackle Joe Thuney is a voracious reader.<br />

He often has a book open during breaks between meetings,<br />

practices, etc. Rumor has it that he scored a 39 on his Wonderlic<br />

test.<br />

Tennis star Tony Adams<br />

OG Alex Barr’s father is a pilot<br />

for Delta and flew the team on a<br />

road trip to Maryland in 2012.<br />

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett writes (not types, writes!) a note to<br />

every player on offense before every game. He also bakes for his<br />

offensive linemen each week.<br />

WR Naquan Brown’s college career started a little late. He<br />

worked full-time at Wal-Mart following high school to provide for<br />

his mother and younger brother.<br />

Tight end Benson Browne has two undergraduate degrees (psychology<br />

and communication). He is now enrolled in a liberal arts<br />

Master’s program.<br />

Sophomore defensive end Bradley Chubb’s brother Brandon is<br />

a starting linebacker at Wake Forest and his cousin Nik plays RB<br />

at Georgia.<br />

Freshman punter A.J. Cole III has spent his last two spring<br />

breaks on a mission trip to Kenya.<br />

He is sponsoring a young<br />

man to attend Mountain Park<br />

Academy in Kenya.<br />

Jack Tocho<br />

Cornerback Jack Tocho is the star of his own web series: “You<br />

Don’t Know Jack!”<br />

Nickel Dravious Wright was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last<br />

season and undergoes frequent treatments to keep the disease<br />

in check.<br />

Freshman wideout Nyheim Hines has a twin sister, Nyah, who is<br />

a member of the Wolfpack track squad.<br />

Senior safety Hakim Jones was<br />

given the No. 1 jersey for this<br />

season in recognition of his<br />

hard work and leadership.<br />

6’6 Tight end Pharoah McKever<br />

started his <strong>NC</strong> State career<br />

at wide receiver, played two<br />

seasons at defensive end, and<br />

moved to tight end prior to the<br />

Belk Bowl.<br />

Clendon stands at a towering<br />

6’6. When he was a freshman in high school, he was 5’9 and was<br />

a triple option quarterback. Dave Doeren says he plays with a<br />

‘little man’s mentality.”<br />

Freshman defensive end Emmanuel Olenga was born in Kinshasa<br />

(Congo) Africa. He speaks four languages: French, English,<br />

and two native African languages: Lingala and Kitatala.<br />

Nyheim Hines<br />

DE James Smith-Williams started an athletic service club at<br />

Millbrook High School during his prep career. He and other<br />

student-athletes volunteered at a local middle school to help<br />
