Joe Murphy
Joe first played at his home club in Roehampton
and was one of the top British Juniors in Europe at
U12. He represented Great Britain until he was 14.

Career so far
When Joe turned 18 he decided
to move to America and play
college tennis at the University
of Memphis where he built up
his fitness and really improved
his on court game. Joe reached
a high NCAA ranking of No.3 in
Doubles and No.56 in Singles.
After a successful College career
Joe graduated from Memphis in
May 2014 and has since started
playing on the Men’s Professional
ATP Tour.
In Joe’s first year of playing
Professional Tournaments he
went from having no ranking
to becoming ranked 710 ATP in
Singles and 298 ATP in Doubles
defeating some top well known
professionals such as Frederik
Nielsen, the 2012 Wimbledon
Grand Slam Doubles Champion, in
straight sets out in Greece.
Over the past summer Joe has
been training hard at the Gosling
Tennis Academy and recently
joined Point To Prove (PTP) a
Tennis Management Agency who
aim to gain financial funding and
vital support to help Joe travel on
the professional tour more often.

Recent Successes
Recent success has seen Joe
travel to Sweden for two weeks in
September where he had his career
best two weeks on the professional
tour. Joe won the Falun $15,000
ITF Doubles Title with partner
David O’Hare from Ireland, but
unfortunately went out in the 1st
round of the Singles Main Draw in
three tight sets.
The second week in Sweden
saw all the hard work training
throughout the summer really
pay off. In the Danderyd $15,000
ITF Joe not only won the Doubles
Title for the second week in a row
with partner David O’Hare, but
also went on to win the Singles
Title too completing the double.
Unseeded Joe came through to
beat the No.8 and No.3 seed to
reach the final. In the final, Joe
faced the previous week’s first
round opponent again. However
this time Joe fought through to
win the final in three sets.
After such a successful two
weeks of singles and doubles Joe
has now gained a new career high
Singles Ranking of 559 ATP and
Doubles Ranking of 263 ATP.
Throughout his career Joe has
won seven professional Doubles
Titles and one Singles Title. Joe has
been training at Gosling Tennis
Academy in Welwyn Garden City
since September last year coached
by Tom Corrie and also Justin
Sherring.
