ULOGA MEUNARODNIH INSTITUCIJA U PREVENCIJI I SANIRANJU
POSLEDICA KATASTROFA
Abstrakt:
U poslednje vreme više od 200 miliona ljudi u svetu godišnje pogodi neka katastrofa. U
tim katastrofama strada veliki broj ljudi i nastaje ogromna materijalna šteta. One ostavljaju
dugotrajne štetne posledice na socijalni i ekonomski sistem, kao i na životnu sredinu.
Naglo poveanje broja katastrofa u svetu nametnulo je obavezu meunarodnim
institucijama da posvete veu pažnju aktivnostima njihove prevencije i saniranja njihovih
posledica. Zbog toga one preduzimaju mere na poveanju svesti o riziku s kojim se mogu
suoiti države prilikom nastanka katastrofa, o tome kako da se smanji ranjivost i kako da se
ponašaju ljudi kad katastrofa nastane. Na značaj smanjenja rizika od katastrofa ukazano je u
velikom broju međunarodnih dokumenata.

THE ROLE OF INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN THE PREVENTION AND
MITIGATION OF CONSEQUENCES OF CATASTROPHES
Abstract:
Recently, more than 200 million people worldwide are affected by some kind of
catastrophes annually. In these catastrophes a large number of people suffer and enormous
material damages ensue. They leave bad long-term effects on the social and economic system,
as well as on the environment.
A sudden increase of the number of catastrophes in the world put on an obligation to
international institutions to pay more attention to the activities of prevention and
rehabilitation of their consequences. That is why they are taking measures to increase
awareness of the risks which states may face upon occurrence of a catastrophe, how to reduce
the vulnerability and how people should behave when a catastrophe occurs. On the
importance of disaster risk reduction has been pointed out in a number of international
documents.
