Abstract: A disaster, crisis, dversity, emergency situtation, terms which in general and
scientific circles indicate the destructive social and natural phenomena. However, very often
these terms are used incorrectly which in theory of organizational, economic, sociological,
geological, security and legal doctrine brings confusion. Due to this fact it is necessary to
precise distinction between these concepts without which there is no successful prevention, to
counteract and eliminate consequences. Valid and usable definition of disaster is impossible
to determine without a clear formulation of the concept of crisis, emergency situtation and
accidents, which represents the subject of this paper.
