Teaching Social Entrepreneurship at the MBA level. The overarching purpose of this course
is twofold, corresponding to the distinct implications suggested by the words “social” and
“entrepreneurship.” On the one hand, the course aims to examine how entrepreneurial
skills and practices can be applied in not-for-profit and governments settings. On the other
hand, the course explores how efforts to tackle social problems and address a society’s
unmet needs create entrepreneurial opportunities. The course teaches students how to
create sustainable ventures that create economic and social value simultaneously.
